Procedures and Regulations
The following Procedures and Regulations are provided to insure the safety, pleasure, security, and well being of you, your horse and others using the Sport Horses Of Rohan facility.
1. Horses are fed twice daily. A third feeding can be arranged at an added charge.
2. Supplements are fed at no charge. Supplements must be pre-measured by the owner, stored in an individual container provided by SHOR.
3. Medication can be administered for a fee commensurate with the labor required. Consult barn manager.
4. We have established a relationship with two farm veterinarians. Boarders are encouraged to use these vets unless a specialty is required. Barn manager will make fall and spring vaccinations appointments. (A notice will be sent with date and time of vaccinations)
5. Farriers may be individually chosen. Owner must make appointments and owner must meet farrier and hold horse. Barn manager can coordinate farrier visits and hold horse for a fee of $10 per visit.
6. Horses are kept in at night and out in the day during the cold weather.
7. Dogs are not allowed on property.
8. Smoking is prohibited within 50 feet of the barn, pastures, and horses.
9. All riding and horse handling are done at your own risk. Approved helmets must be worn when mounted on a horse. Anyone riding without a helmet will be asked to dismount and shall not remount until an approved helmet is being worn. Minors are prohibited from jumping unless a trainer is in the ring.
10. Keep your horse on a lead at all times when out of the stall or pasture.
11. Keep all gates closed and latched.
12. Dangerous horses will be asked to leave.
13. Clean up after your horse. Clean up any manure left in the barn aisles, rake if necessary. Clean up wash stall after each use.
14. Tack trunks are allowed in front of each stall, please limit each stall to one box.
15. Board is due at the first of the month. A $15.00 late fee will apply if payment is not received by the 6th of the month.
16. All farrier and vet visits that you schedule should be written on the barn calendar. Only one farrier or vet can be scheduled at a time.
17. All lessons are to be scheduled with the trainer. A SHOR trainer will do all hunter jumper training. Outside trainers are allowed.
18. In case of an injury or special care, special handling can be arranged for a fee.
19. We require all horses to be wormed every 2 months, unless on a daily wormer. Barn management will coordinate the bi-monthly wormings and bill each boarder accordingly.
20. Any damage done to the barn or stalls by your horse will be repaired at the horse owner's expense. Horses that crib or chew wood may be required to wear a cribbing strap or muzzle at the owner's expense.
21. Horse owner agrees to hold Sport Horses Of Rohan/ Melinda Routh and Robert and Rose Hancock harmless from any claim resulting from damage or injury caused by their horse. Sport Horses Of Rohan/ Melinda Routh and Robert and Rose Hancock, its agents and employees shall not be liable for any sickness, lameness, injury, death or any other action suffered by horse arising from or in connection to the board of this horse. Horse owner assumes all risks and horse owner agrees to hold harmless Sport Horses Of Rohan/ Melinda Routh and Robert and Rose Hancock for any loss or injury to horse. Insurance on horses boarded is the sole responsibility of the horse owner.
22. Horse owner shall not hold Sport Horses Of Rohan/ Melinda Routh and Robert And Rose Hancock liable for damages or loss of personal property, saddlery, tack, equipment, or vehicles stored on the property, due to any causes, including but not limited to; fire, storm, vandalism, theft, and acknowledges that it is the sole responsibility of horse owner to carry insurance on these articles of personal property.
23. For your own safety, never ride alone.
24. Last one leaving the barn in the evening must; turn off lights, radio, close and lock gates, barn doors and tack rooms.
