Horse Training
Melinda Routh believes in taking her time with the horses and making sure they are started the right way.
"For jumpers you must start them the correct way. This means taking your time. Lots of jumping dressage to build them up, lots of free jumping and grid work to build up the horse's confidence. When the horse is strong and balanced, then they will be ready to take a rider over the jump. You can not rush your horse into jumping." Melinda does a full evaluation of a horse before she starts training them. Making sure they are healthy and sound for the work they will be asked to do.
Along with coaching and training, Melinda has a talent with rehabilitating injured and unwanted thoroughbred racehorses. Giving them a chance at a second career and finding a loving home. Click here to learn more about "A Stall For Love".
